The city has been undertaking sustainability projects for several years to establish best management practices, promote sustainable communities and protect public health and safety as well as the enviornment. Due to this dedication, the City of Monterey is currently projected to meet its short (2020) and mid term (2030) goals as established in the 2016 Climate Action Plan.
