City of Piedmont
The City of Piedmont’s initial Climate Action Plan was adopted by City Council in 2010, with a goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to 15% below 2005 levels by 2020. The City met this reduction ahead of the 2020 target, and set more ambitious goals than the previous ones and in sync with those set by the State. In 2018, the City Council adopted Piedmont’s second Climate Action Plan, which includes and expands on the measures and goals introduced in the preceding 2010 Plan. The Climate Action Plan 2.0 sets greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets of 40% below 2005 levels by 2030 and 80% below 2005 levels by 2050.
