Jaron Brandon is the District 5 Supervisor for Tuolumne County, California, a picturesque community deep in the Sierra Nevada foothills that includes Yosemite National Park. Raised in the county, he has a deep connection to the community graduating from Sonora Union High School and later earned a degree in Political Science from UC Merced.
At 31, Jaron is one of the State’s youngest county elected leaders and focuses primarily on the issues of affordable housing, economic development, and citizen accessibility to government – three areas that prevent people from living healthy, productive lives in his area. He’s additionally led major efforts to improve local public safety, library service, behavioral health, homelessness, and forest management.
Jaron believes that effective local government is built on engaged citizens, transparent processes, and well-trained officials. He emphasizes the importance of community participation in decision-making and is committed to ensuring that government actions are open and accountable. This approach fosters trust and collaboration between citizens and their representatives, ultimately leading to better outcomes for all.
