Mona Miyasato is the County Executive Officer for Santa Barbara County, responsible for overseeing an organization of more than 4,700 employees and an operating budget of $1.59 billion.

She joined Santa Barbara County in December 2013 following five years as the Chief Assistant County Administrator for Marin County in northern California. Prior to that, she served in various roles with the City of Santa Monica from 1998-2008, including her final post as Deputy City Manager, and worked in the field of redevelopment and community development for Southern California local government agencies before that.

She has a bachelor’s degree in both Political Science and Economics from the University of California at Berkeley, and a master’s degree in Public Policy from the Harvard University, Kennedy School of Government.
