About Shannon

Shannon Parry is the Deputy Sustainability Officer for Santa Monica and has been involved in sustainability practices since 2001. Community sustainability is a strategic policy framework used by the City Council to help make decisions that maintain and enhance the livability and vitality of the city of Santa Monica now and into the future. Shannon promotes public engagement to improve sustainability which exists at the intersection of environmental quality, economic vitality and social equity.

Miss Parry received her Master’s degree in Urban Planning from the University of California- Los Angeles after double majoring in Environmental Science Policy and Management, and Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of California- Berkeley.
