This free one-hour webinar, the first in a series offered through the Institute’s Sustainable Communities Learning Network, explored different funding sources for sustainability projects available from the State of California and tools to access those funding opportunities. Panelist Dana Papke Waters discussed the new Funding Wizard and other tools the California Air Resources Board offers through CoolCalifornia.com. Heather Fargo, Executive Policy Officer at the Strategic Growth Council (SGC), talked about the agency’s upcoming Sustainable Communities Planning Grant solicitation. Lastly, Wendy Hartman of Yuba County, who successfully applied for the previous round of SGC funding, highlighted lessons learned from the SGC solicitation process. Yuba County also provided an overview of the grant-funded project to develop “Unified Development Code and Climate Action Plan.”
